This Alfa Rome Giulia Spider Veloce was manufactured on the 10th June 1964 and sold to Société Francaise Alfa Romeo from Paris, France, on 10th September 1964. The Veloce remained in France all its life, and for the past 28 years under the care of its last owner, J.P. Triquel from Toulouse. Monsieur Triquel, now 84, is a true Alfa passionate, who curated a collection that included a Sprint Speciale, GTC, Coupe Bertone, Giulia Super, Spider Duetto, Nuova, and this blu celeste Giulia Spider Veloce, his most cherished Alfa, and the last one to sell. When we purchased the Veloce, he shared with nostalgia and appreciation the good moments with the Veloce, recounting road trips with his wife in the French region of Occitane and their participation in numerous classic car tours.
This is one of 289 Spider Veloce that Alfa produced in 1964, with 101.18 chassis numbers, while it produced 1877 “normale” 1600 Spiders in left-hand-drive, 1 in right-hand-drive. All Veloces featured dual Weber carburetors, hotter cams, a cold-air intake, and higher-compression pistons. Alfa’s engineers dialed the horsepower up to 91hp, compared to the 79hp of the Spiders “normale”.
The Veloce is sold with its original invoice, a folder of service invoices, a toolkit, and an Alfa Romeo certificate of origin.
